A behind-the-scenes look at how Holidaypac's internal team meeting turns into better packaging solutions for you
By the Cassie Lam founder of HolidayPac | Packaging Strategy & Client Success
At Holidaypac, we design and manufacture packaging and display solutions for brands worldwide. But what actually makes us different from the thousands of other factories out there?
The answer isn't our equipment. It's how we think.
Every week, our team gathers not just to review orders — but to stress-test our thinking. We challenge each other on competitive positioning, client communication, market trends, and business ethics. We believe that a packaging supplier that only knows how to print boxes is not a true partner for your brand.
This post gives you a transparent window into one of those sessions — what we debated, what we concluded, and most importantly, what it means for you as a Holidaypac client.

Many packaging factories are great at talking about themselves — their machines, their certifications, their materials. But very few take the time to study the competitive landscape that their clients operate in.
At Holidaypac, we asked ourselves a hard question in this meeting: Do we actually know what sets our clients' products apart from their competitors? And do we apply that same competitive discipline to ourselves?
Our team made a commitment: before presenting packaging options to any client, we will research comparable products in their category. We look at how competing brands present their packaging, what materials are commonly used, where visual differentiation is possible, and where cost efficiencies hide.

For You |
When you bring a project to Holidaypac, you're not just getting a quote — you're getting competitive context. We help you understand how your packaging can stand out on the shelf, not just look good in isolation. |
This approach is rooted in a principle: know your client's battlefield, not just your own capabilities. For Holidaypac, this is how we build packaging that wins market share for brands, not just packaging that ships on time.

In our team discussion, a pattern emerged from recent client interactions: more and more buyers are arriving with AI-generated design references. They use tools like Midjourney or ChatGPT to generate product visuals, structural concepts, or color specifications before even contacting a factory.
This is a double-edged shift. On one hand, clients arrive with clearer visual intent than ever before. On the other hand, AI-generated designs often contain structural or material specifications that are physically impossible or commercially impractical to produce.
One of our account managers shared a case: a client submitted an AI-generated packaging design specifying three to four Pantone spot colors and a specific structural fold — then expressed surprise when the sample quote reflected the true complexity of that request.
The client had paid a small prototyping fee expecting a straightforward process, not realizing that multi-color Pantone printing requires separate print runs, specialized inks, and exacting color calibration.

Holidaypac's Approach |
We don't just say 'yes' to every AI brief. We translate your vision into what's actually achievable — and explain why, in plain language. Our team is trained to bridge the gap between digital imagination and physical production reality. |
Here's the upside: AI-enabled clients are often the best clients to work with. They've done creative homework. They have a visual vocabulary. They know what they want to achieve aesthetically.
At Holidaypac, we've trained our team to see AI-assisted briefs as a head start, not a headache. Our role is to elevate your AI concept into a manufacturable, cost-effective, brand-strong packaging solution.

Our team had a candid conversation about content and how factories present themselves. The market is flooded with beautifully produced factory tour videos, sleek promotional materials, and computer-rendered product shots.
The problem? Buyers are increasingly skeptical. When everything looks AI-perfect, nothing looks trustworthy.
Holidaypac made a deliberate decision: we show you the real thing. Our product samples are real. Our factory footage is unfiltered. When we send you a material swatch, it's the actual substrate we'll use — not a screen approximation.
|
Our Promise |
What you see from Holidaypac is what you get. We'd rather show you an honest photo of a real carton coming off our line than a perfect render of something we can't reproduce at scale. |
This is a competitive differentiator we're proud of. In a world where AI can fabricate almost any visual, Holidaypac's authentic, unpolished transparency is actually a premium signal of reliability.

Our team referenced a widely cited management principle during this session: human beings are wired to fear loss more than we value equivalent gain. This evolutionary bias leads factories — and clients — to make overly conservative decisions based on fear rather than evidence.
Holidaypac recognized this pattern in our own business planning and set out to correct it.
We now evaluate every major business decision — from minimum order quantity thresholds, to new material investments, to logistics partnerships — using data, not instinct. We ask: what is the actual worst case? What does the evidence say about probability? And what does long-term client value look like if we make the right call now?
|
What This Means For You |
When Holidaypac offers you a pricing structure, a recommended minimum order, or a production timeline — it's been modeled against real data from comparable projects, not wishful thinking. We protect your investment by thinking clearly about risk. |
This is especially important for international clients working with a factory for the first time. You need a partner who won't overpromise and underdeliver. Holidaypac's data-first culture is built to earn that trust.

Traditional factory thinking is transactional: win the order, ship the goods, move on. This model prioritizes short-term revenue over long-term client relationships.
Holidaypac explicitly rejects this model. In our team discussion, we talked about what it looks like to build something sustainable — for ourselves and for our clients.
We think about client relationships in phases. Early engagement is about understanding your market, your aesthetic standards, and your operational constraints. Over time, we become embedded in your product development cycle — proactively suggesting materials, structures, or cost optimizations you haven't thought to ask for yet.
|
Our Goal |
To be the packaging factory you stop shopping around for — because you already know Holidaypac will give you the best combination of quality, transparency, and strategic thinking. |
The meeting we've summarized here is just one example of the ongoing intellectual investment Holidaypac makes — not in more machines, but in better thinking.
We believe the future of global packaging manufacturing belongs to factories that understand:
Holidaypac is a packaging and display solutions factory for global brands. But more than that, we are a team that thinks hard about your business — so that every box, bag, display, or insert we produce is working as hard as your brand deserves.

Contact the Holidaypac team today to discuss your next packaging or display project. We offer global sourcing, custom structural design, Pantone-matched printing, and end-to-end project management — with the transparency and strategic thinking your brand deserves.
