Start with your beverage pack
Beverages create a demanding design brief because the weight of a full display can increase quickly. Begin with the gross weight and dimensions of each filled bottle, can, or multipack. Include the number of products per shelf and the intended total inventory. The proposed structure and support arrangement should then be assessed with representative products.
An end cap display occupies an aisle-end merchandising position. Confirm the retailer’s available footprint, height restrictions, surrounding clearance, and any fixture requirements before approving a drawing. The finished unit must provide room for shoppers to select products and staff to replenish stock.

Shelf access & load planning
Shelf depth should allow efficient stocking without making rear products difficult to reach. Check that front edges retain packs appropriately while leaving important labels visible. Review the layout with a full load and after partial sell-through: shoppers should still understand the assortment when some products have been removed.
Do not select a shelf rating from a photograph or cardboard thickness alone. Agree on the proposed load, test duration, service conditions, and acceptable deformation before sample approval. A change to bottle size, fill weight, shelf span, or reinforcement may require a new assessment.
Graphics that guide shoppers
Use a clear header, recognizable product branding, and readable pricing. Position key messages where stocked merchandise will not cover them. Review a full-size print proof to check contrast, text size, and how the design looks from the shopper’s expected approach direction.
For campaigns involving several flavors or pack sizes, give each product a defined location. Provide a loading diagram so stores can reproduce the intended arrangement. Graphics and product positioning should help shoppers compare options without searching for the relevant price.
Packing & store installation
A flat-packed unit requires an identified assembly and filling location. An assembled or prefilled shipment requires appropriate protection and product retention. Compare the complete cost of transport, handling, assembly, filling, and installation when choosing the delivery configuration.
Ask an unfamiliar person to assemble the approved sample using only the instructions. Record confusing steps, missing components, and any tools needed. Include the component list and loading sequence in the final store instructions. Select transport validation according to the actual shipment configuration and route.
